Oh sheeeeeet…..not again!  0

Posted on April 30th, 2008. About Random Stuff, Webgeek Stuff.

Actually, I shouldn’t moan - I am relatively lucky with my PC (touch wood), in that it doesn’t break very often at all.

But it broke yesterday…

I was all set to write my review of the latest excursion of the newly christened ‘Team Boner’ to Thorpe Park, to include pictures of us doing questionable things on the rides, but I turned on my PC yesterday morning and……..nothing.

Nada…zip…..zilch….not a flicker of activity.

Tits.

As usual, I phoned my web guru Collin, who is coming round tonight after Cubs to have a look at it. He has intimated that it will probably require me buying a new motherboard, going by my description of the symptoms.

Arse.

Oh well, it seems I am cursed to never rid myself of my overdraft or credit card debt without getting a second job. I think I’ll get a bundle (motherboard and processor) instead of just a motherboard on its own. Novatech are doing a nice AMD bundle for £117 at the mo, so I think I’ll plump for that. That is, assuming that Collin can’t fix the problem.

Now, the older readers of the blog might remember that I vowed never ever ever ever ever EVER to shop at Novatech again, after the time I tried to buy my last system from them (it ended with me causing a scene in the shop), but fact is, I need a working PC - I have too much to do to leave it for a week or so.

Tits and Arse.

Having said that, Dabs are generally pretty quick with their delivery, so I think I’ll go check them out this afternoon. Either way, I wanna get a new case as well, as my current one is rubbish.

Ho hum….pictures of dildoes will have to wait for a couple of days…..

Privatisation…  0

Posted on April 21st, 2008. About Rants.

Just had a quick soapbox moment at work.

Ever since I made some controversial comments about Enoch Powell’s ‘Rivers of Blood’ speech on the discussion board at work, I have tried to restrain myself from getting involved in any political discussions, especially as I am still awaiting news from my Union National Committee as to whether or not I am getting kicked out because of the aforementioned coments.

But some complete tool here is advocating privatisation as a wonderful thing to have happened to this country overall. What a complete w*nker!!! I worry that a generation of children who attend classes such as business studies are leaving school actually believing that the current capitalist economic model is actually a good thing.

Anyway, since I haven’t used this blog for ages (sorry again everyone!), I thought I’d pop my comment up for your delectation:

Privatisation was, and still is an utterly terrible thing to happen to this country, or any country. There are no positives to draw from it, that woudn’t have occured ten-fold if government had just decided to run it properly themselves.

The only reason it happened / happens is to line the pockets of the already rich and powerful. The only other people who benefit are those with a measure of surplus income, who think it is right and fair to make money by doing absolutely nothing, other than merely having spare money.

It is the epitomy of the criminally unjust society in which we are forced to live.

I really must learn to stop sitting on the fence when discussing these issues…….
