I’m really not using this site as much as I should…  4

When I got Cornell to set this site up for me, I had all these wonderful ideas about what I was going to do with it. The blog was going to be a central part of it, but I was going to set up several different areas outside the blog, for photography, music, motorbiking (later on), and I was going to purchase domain names for my Scout Troop and the Pancake Eating Freaks and park (is that the correct term?) them on my webspace.

Well, three months have rolled by since I started this site…. and I haven’t really done much to it…

I suppose I did get the gallery up and running, which was a major part of the plan. Problem is, I put some photos up…and then stopped. I’ve got loads more to put up on the site, and I want to link a section of it to the Scouting site that I want to set up, so I can put some photos of events up as well (provided the parents are OK with that). I need to link another section for the Freaks as well (once I’ve gotten round to taking some more group shots, and setting up their bit of the site).

But where to begin…? I need to set aside a weekend solely to crack on with this stuff. I will no doubt need to pick a serious amount of Cornell’s brains before I do, but I really need to start learning how to take care of this stuff myself, as much for myself as for him (he’s busy enough with his own sites to keep wasting his time telling me the same basic stuff over and over).

Problem is, the subject is so vast, and my time management sucks (I’ve stopped saying that I don’t have the time because that was a lie to rationalise my own inability to prioritise and organise my time properly)…uh, oh - better stop now before I start beating myself up too much!

Suffice to say I will crack on with and make headway eventually. As with most things, its probably best just to start doing it, and learn how to do it properly later…

This whole post was inspired by one of my Scouts last night. Jake, who is never one to hesitate in voicing his opinion, said to me:

“I had a look at your site last night”

“Oh right?” says I. “What did you think of it?”

“….well……it’s a bit………….errrrrr………….’bloggy’………….”

“Riiiiiiiiiight…….”

Fair point I suppose. Adam did say that he liked my photos, which I can always do with hearing.

I love my car……  1

I’ve got an old (10 years old) Vauxhall Cavalier, which I’ve been driving for the past four years or so. It’s done about 140,000 miles, and although it drives nice and smoothly, I was getting a bit worried about putting it in for its next MOT.

I thought it would cost me an arm and a leg since it was so old, but I just got the phone call from Quay Motors and it passed !

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!

I do put it through a bit of abuse, what with all the cr*p I put in it and on it when I go out on Scout activities, and all the branches and bushes I drive through, so after it comes back (with a full service), I think I will treat it to a good clean, inside and out, and try to clean up the bodywork a bit (if the weather holds).

My loyalty to Vauxhall cars remains true…..
